Marijke is passionate about ensuring sucessful developments through good design and planning. She has policy and regulatory experience including 6 years in the UK and 5 years in NZ. She has experience in applying a range of planning tools and practices including landscape character assessments, urban capacity studies, low impact design, workshops and consulation, mediation, monitoring policies and development pressure, preparing submissions and expert evidence.
Marijke contributed to the review of the Winchester District Local Plan and the Isle of Wight Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Management Plan. She has undertaken an urban capacity study of the Winchester District and contributed to the planning for the Winchester North Major Development Area. She has prepared good practice guidance for development proposals in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in terms of flood risk, sustainable urban drainage and construction.
Marijke has both local government and private consultancy experience and has managed a range of medium to complex resource consent applications including, urban, rural, subdivision, tourism and residential development. She has taken an active interest in reforms to local government and planning in New Zealand designed to assist with delivering better outcomes.
Marijke has travelled extensively in Europe, Africa and North America. She is a NZ national with Dutch ancestry. |
