Manuaku Quarries at Beachlands is approaching the end of its operational life. The project team developed a plan setting out the vision for a light industrial and yard based commercial development.

The statutory context required a careful design integrated with the rural character using techniques such as building design and location, and significant native revegetation. The project was granted resource consent under the Covid 19 fast-track process. A further application to expand the development to the front of the site has been made under the Fast-Track Approvals Act, also approved for further design and substantive application.

Transurban was involved in the design of the proposal, provided the landscape visual assessment and conceptual landscape strategy.
